Lonely Cowboy’s Reverie

Lonely Cowboy’s Reverie

(Ken Carson)

As the lonely night bird is calling
Western breezes softly start to sigh
A cowboy sits beside his campfire dreaming
Lulled to rest by nature’s lullaby

Lonely cowboy’s reverie
The sighing breeze his melody
Twilight memories are the words of his lonely song
A flaming moonswept sky
Kindled by a million stars
And fleecy clouds on high drift as lonely memories slowly by
Lonely cowboys reverie
Under Western Skies
